Media & Munch Club #1

Let’s talk about what we consume! Join us for snacks & chats on media that portray AAPI+MENA people and stories!
In this first session, we’ll be talking about Launchpad, just one of the many diversity initiatives by major media & entertainment companies today. The short films covered in this session will tap into themes of diasporic EAsian and SAsian stories, gender roles & construction, Islam in America, and childhood/coming of age narratives.

What is "Asian" & "Asian American"? A Space for Reflection & Next Steps

Join us for a warm and relaxed conversation over Asian snacks about what it means to be “Asian” and/or “Asian American.” Through discussions moderated by the AACC’s Political Action and Engagement team, we’ll be exploring different definitions and manifestations of these identities, the history of the Asian American diaspora (broadly and at Yale), and building blocks for interracial solidarity as we commit to social change.

You don’t need to know a language in order to write it beautifully! The AACC is excited to launch the first in a series of calligraphy workshops that the Communications and Design team is organizing this semester.
